Upon the hearth the fire is red,
Beneath the roof there is a bed;
But not yet weary are our feet,
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
that none have seen but we alone.
Tree and Flower and leaf and grass,
Let them pass! Let them pass!
Hill and water under sky,
Pass them by! Pass them by!
Still round the corner there may wait
A new road or secret gate.
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the moon or to the sun.
Apple, thorn and nut and sloe,
Let them go! Let them go!
Sand and stone and pool and dell,
Fare you well! Fare you well!
Home is behind, the world ahead,
And there are many paths to tread.
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
We’ll wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed!

A pile of gravel is just a pile of rocks
Until an architect dreams it into a castle
An apple tree is just a tree with fruit
Until a baker dreams it into a pie
A swatch of fabric is just a swatch of cloth
Until a seamstress dreams it into a dress
A rose bush is just a bush with flowers
Until a gardener dreams it into a bouquet
An adjective is just a word
Until a writer dreams it into a novel
An oak tree is just a lot of shade
Until a lover dreams it into a rendezvous
A canvas is just a cloth piece of paper
Until an artist dreams it into a masterpiece
A ball of yarn is just a kitten’s toy
Until a knitter dreams it into a sweater
An imagination is just a lump of fiction
Until a child dreams it into a reality
A life is just a series of minutes
Until a man dreams it into moments

she whispered her dreams to her pillow
speaking of them as truth
she knew one day she would meet him
and he would help her dreams come true
so every night, as she fell asleep
she whispered her dreams as truth
because she knew one day
and one day soon
her knight will ride in
an expert in giving dreams life
and making them reality
and taking them as truth
she waited and she prayed
trusting in her dreams
patience and some pain
until her knight came
and promised to make her dreams true
now, she rests her head close to his ear
told him dreams she held dear
and she whispered her dreams as truth
and he knew he would one day
and one day soon
make her dreams true

i knew a german
she brought me tolberone
it tasted pretty darn good
i knew a woman
she gave me godiva
it went down pretty smooth
i knew a lady
she bought me dove
it melted like it should
but the best chocolate i have ever tasted
cost a dollar on an impulse
a hershey’s kiss
a reese’s cup
a three musketeers
inexpensive chocolate is misunderstood
